Born in a family of agriculturists at Madarahalli in T.Narasipura, Sri M.C. Sivananda Sarma had a firm foot in the social sphere from the days of his childhood.
He was an active participant in the independence struggle, and drew inspiration from patriots like Mahatma Gandhi, Sri Madana Mohana Malaviya, Sri Rabindranath Tagore and Sri N.X. Hardikar. He perceived that real social service could be rendered through the medium of education and founded the Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Institution on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami of the Vikramanama Samvatsaram, in the year 1940. There were just six students in the school then!
His dream of nurturing this small sapling into a huge tree with multiple branches has come true in the form of the present R.V. Educational Institutions. Starting from the nursery level, up to the post-graduation level, over twenty institutes run under the banner of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust.
